  • Bemerkung

  • The Philco Solid State R-131 AM/FM Pocket Radio came in four case colors: black (BK), green (GR), red (PR), or yellow (YW); all models had the same chrome plated metal dial escutcheon.  The FM circuit had an additional front end RF amplifier stage.  Other features include a Philco speaker 0.2 watt, telescopic antenna, earphone jack, and wrist strap.

    The very similar R-940 has the same PCB/circuit and case except the dial escutcheon is plastic and the same color as the case, blue (BL) or orange (OR).  

    Note that non-black models used the R-131 BK labels with an overlayed stamp for the correct case color; the stamp may have faded over time, indicating the incorrect R-131 BK model name.
