  • Bemerkung
  • Model 770A is a seven-transistor car radio modified from the earlier Model 770 and the following changes apply from Serial No. 18501.

    • TR7: Type OC26 Tranistor
    • R33: 1 kΩ, 5% 10 W

All interference suppression modifications incorporated on Model 770 are included in the 'A' version which commenced production from Serial No. 18501,

The method of mounting the OC26 transistor differs from the OC16, and although the same audio sub-chassis is used, an additional three holes are necessary/ Insulating bushes prevent collector/chassis short circuits through mounting screws, and a lug mounted under one of the securing buts provides for collector termination. The emitter lug passes through the original mounting hole in the sub-chassis with the lug connection through the adjacent hole.

The change of the dial cord stringing introduced from Serial No. 16362 is also incorporated. In total, there are wiring changes around L14, L17 and value changes to R26 and R32. Modifications are made to the dial cord drum and a shorter dial cord is used and a rubber washer is introduced between the volume and tone knobs on their co-axial shaft.

See also derivative models, 770B, 770FB, and VA109 although the schematic for the VA109 shows the R33 a 1000Ω and an OC26 at T7.

The external mechanical details of the original 770 do not change.
