  • Notes
  • The Tube Tester 324P has a 4.5" meter, CRT check. The Allied Radio Catalog Nº 150, 1956 shows it (for $ 78) with a space on the left side. A collector sent us pictures of an instrument which is called "DO-ALL Tube & Battery Tester" Model No. 324 and this picture of the model without the suffix "P" shows the space for cables etc. A leaflet with a photo shows the same model (space left) as 324 and as 324C as "Counter model with open style metal case" for $ 69.95 plus model 324P as "Combination portable-counter model in hand-rubbed carrying case with slip-hinge cover" for $ 79.50 plus an item "For Color TV-PTA2 Picture tube adaptor and cable for checking 3 gun color picture tubes" for $ 9.95. The model 324 family "brings a performance of four instruments packed into one". We leave the "wrong" picture to demonstrate what can happen on design between first marketing and production.
