  • Notes
  • The original Doerle Signal Gripper was designed by W.C. Doerle. That receiver employed a type 32 tube in the RF Amp section.  The "Improved" version marketed by Radio Trading Co. used a type 34 tube. The receiver covered 15 to 200 meters with plug-in coils.  The set would operate with either 90 or 135 volt "B" battery. It was offered as a kit or wired.

In advertising, Radio Trading Co. says "By special arrangement with the publishers of Short Wave Craft, we are now in a position to sell you these official receivers..." Gernsback (publisher of Short Wave Craft) also published a booklet entitled, "How to Build 4 Doerle Short Wave Sets."
