  • The RCA Radiola 42 is an AC operated 7 tube BC band receiver. The radio has 4 tuned RF stages and a push-pull audio output stage.  A 5 pin terminal strip is included and allows the connection of an external phonograph.

    The Radiola 42 uses the same chassis and speaker as the Radiola 48, with some minor component differences.  The Radiola 42 also contains a tone control, which is mounted on the side of the cabinet directly under the power switch.

    The RCA Redbook states that all Radiola 48 service information applies to the Radiola 42. Connections for an external phonograph can be found in the RCA Redbook Radiola 48 service notes.

    The RCA Victor R-14 receiver uses the same chassis as the Radiola 42, but has a different cabinet.
