  • Remarques
  • Louis Lumiere of France had designed and patented the pleated paper diapragm for use with cinematography equipment and later assigned the patent to The Victor Talking Machine Company (patents 984,477 and 1,036,529) and its European affiliate HMV (His Master's Voice). HMV briefly produced several gramophones using the Lumiere pleated paper diaphragm during 1924-1925. However, Victor only used it with this radio speaker, the Victor Lumiere Loudspeaker No. 1, introduced in 1925. This was four years prior to The Victor Talking Machine Company being purchased by RCA in 1929.

The speaker uses a magnetic driver, typical of other radio speaker drivers available at the time, with a lever at the top that allows the user to slightly adjust the driver for best sound. An identical pleated diapragm on the back side of the speaker is not connected to the driver.
