- Bemerkung
-
The Sears Silvertone 1654 is an AC operated 12 tube BC band receiver. Has separate oscillator tube and push-pull output stage. Note that the schematic is drawn somewhat confusing in that there are actually Qty(2) 56 tubes used in the detector/AVC stage (See tube location drawing). Minor production change with IF circuit to improve selectivity.
Sears service manual has instructions on changing oscillator tube from a 58 to a 24A to improve sensitivity, but it is unclear if this was a production change.
See details and summaries about Sears catalogs etc. This model was manufactured for Sears by Colonial Radio Corp., Buffalo, NY (Sears Manufacturer Source Number Code 101).
The chassis from this model is also used in model Silvertone 1652.
