- The Sears Roebuck Model 4 Detector Receiving set was manufactured for Sears by The Precision Equipment Company which was owned by the Crosley Radio Corporation by this time. Crosley parts are used throughout the set. This little set tuned the wavelength range of 200-600 meters. The Model 2 sold for $28.85 complete with aerial, batteries, headphones and WD12 tube. $27.55 with all accessories except aerial or $18.75 just for the radio with no accessories.
For 1925 we have the following information:
The Crescent 1-tube regenerative receiver is offered in the catalog "459" as 57A2656 1/4 without accessories like the tube etc. for $ 13.85 plus the accessories, listed as 57A2659 1/4 for an other $ 9.50, containing tube, "B" battery, dry cell, headphones, aerial and ground outfit. This results together in $ 23.35. The name Silvertone is not mentioned.
