  • The Sears Silvertone 1936 is a DC operated 9 tube Longwave, BC, Police and SW band receiver. Uses 1F1 ballast tube to reduce the 3V filament supply to 2V.  Has AVC, Qty(2) IF stages and push-pull output stage.  Uses Qty(2) 1.5V flashlight batteries to power the dial lamp, which is lite only when knob is pressed. Uses the first +22.5V tap from the B+ batteries block as a C+ battery, thus the actual B+ voltage is 167.5V.

    Chassis and schematic used in this model also used in model 1996.

    Band Frequency Ranges are as follows:
    LW Band (Band A).............220-400kHz (Weather band)
    BC Band (Band B).............540-1700kHz
    Police Band (Band C)........1.67-5.25MHz
    SW Band (Band D)............4.25-15.5MHz
