  • This Sky Chief radio is a Broadcast band-only 4-tube TRF unit that needs an octal 49-52V ballast.  The 5 tubes mentioned in the advertisement include the ballast tube in the count.  The radio has a slightly-inclined front panel.

    The chassis tag is labeled "F.M.C." in the upper left [indicating Freed Manufacturing Co. is the manufacturer], and has the number S-125-4 printed in the upper right [likely Freed's model# for the chassis].
