    Similar to MZ-R30 but with electronics / software improved and some changes in the metallic case and lettering. Case: silver or metallic blue.

    Record and play MiniDiscs of 60 or 74 minutes in audio stereo or mono (120 or 148 minutes).

    Bit Rate Used - 292 kbit/s; the first ATRACK algorithms, were designed in 1992, to be close to CD quality, acoustically.  Later ATRAC was improved and is generally considered better than earlier versions at similar bitrates.

    Sampling rate: 44.1 KHz but has a  sampling rate converter for digital audio input/output with  32 kHz or 48 kHz of sampling rate.

    Charging time is 2.5 h (80%) and 5 h (100%). 5 hours continuous record on LIP-12 and 8 h on playback.
