• Notes

•        The Sony NW-MS9, a portable digital audio player from the Network Walkman series, marked one of Sony’s first steps into the era of digital music without discs or cassettes, featuring a stylish, ultra-compact metal casing.
  Key Features and Specifications
Memory: All music is stored on removable MagicGate Memory Stick cards. A 64 MB card was included in the package. At that time, the maximum supported card capacity was 128 MB. Audio Format (ATRAC3): The player does not play MP3 files directly. All files (MP3, WAV, WMA) had to be converted to the proprietary ATRAC3 compression format using an official utility from Sony.
The OpenMG Jukebox program was used to load tracks.
Screen: A compact, single-line backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) is built into the side of the device. It displays the track title, ID3 tags, a graphic equalizer, and the time.
Power: Runs on a special replaceable flat nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery (“gumstick”). A single charge provides approximately 10 hours of continuous playback.
