Das TC-800B weist vier wählbare Geschwindigkeiten auf:
7 1/2; 3 3/4; 1 7/8 und 15/16 inch/sec.Entsprechend 19; 9.5; 4.75 und 2.38 cm/s. Letztere Geschwindigkeit soll zur Zeit Nixons im Weissen Haus mit diesem Gerät verwendet worden sein, weshalb die Aufzeichnungen z.T. schwer verständlich waren ("Watergate" Skandal).
Gerät enthält ein eingebautes Electret Mikrofon. Die Aussteuerung bei der Aufnahme kann automatisch oder manuell (Instrument) erfolgen.
Als Besonderheit lässt sich die Bandgeschwindigkeit mittels des Servo Controls stufenlos +/- varieren.
Der max. Spulendurchmesser beträgt 130mm.
