Hello Ernst,
Some more informations about the SONY TFM 825; because i own two models i can say to you that this radio has 8 transistors to my knowledge there are 3 models for export outside Japan!
TFM 825 with AM 530-1605 KHZ and FM 86.5-108 MHZ
                     FM IF 10.7MHZ
                     AM IF 455 KHZ

i know two color ,Black with silver grid face plate ,White whith black grid face plate.(may be there are other colors but i have never seen on Internet)

TFM 825L (sold in France) with MW 530-1605KHZ ,LW 150-255 KHZ,FM 87-104 MHZ
a variant for Germany, the TFM 825DL has FM 87-108 MHZ instead of 87-104 MHZ

the JAPANESE model is the TFM 825J

this model is a very well built radio on brass ,it is very sensitive, nice look, good audio(for a small radio) whith an OVAL speaker.
well this elegant radio must be in a collection of SONY RADIO.
the battery is the standard 9V battery, and the telescopic antenna(51,5 cm)  has 6 sections.
that's all i can say on this vintage fine radio.
