  • This model could be used with either H.T. batteries, or a "battery eliminator" (presumably genemotor).

    This radio makes unusual use of a 239 as a diode detector and triode audio amplifier.  The normal anode is used as the diode anode, and the screen grid is used as the triode anode.  This circuit was soon superseded by one using a type 85 valve in the usual way.  See variant.
