  • Modelo: Sutton Portable Radio - Centurion Brand, Suttons Ltd.;
  • Forma
  • Portátil de bolsillo , menor de 20cm.
  • Anotaciones
  • In 1910 Henry Sutton built the world’s first Portable Wireless. This invention is listed along with his other inventions. There are detailed descriptions of his other inventions available on the internet and biographies but there is very little information on his receiver. There is a photo of him using it in 1910 and a detailed description of its RF sensitivity in the “Mercury” (Tas.) newspaper of March 7, 1912. Hopefully more information will come to light on this important Australian invention as it was a decade before the world's first retail portable radio - the 'Portaphone' - was marketed by the Bureau of Standards in Washington.
