Quartz PLL Direct Drive Turntable KD-600

• alternative name: Trio Corp.
• Brand: Jennen

Unlike most complete turntables, the KD-600 was deliberately sold without a tonearm, headshell or cartridge. Kenwood supplied interchangeable armboards, including one intended for SME arms and another for Ortofon arms. This allowed the purchaser to fit the tonearm of their choice.

One of the KD-600's major features was Kenwood's ACRB (Anti-Resonance Compression Base). Rather than using an ordinary wooden or plastic plinth, Kenwood used a very heavy composite structure designed to suppress vibration and resonance. The heavy base, 2.6 kg platter, and substantial main bearing are key parts of the KD-600's design.
