  • Remarques
  • This Character "Felix the Cat" debuted in a short film "feline follies" in 1900. It was soon syndicated to hundreds of newspapers around the world and became an international celebrity.

In 1924 it was used for a novelty crystal set (S.J.E.,London), also self construction guides were issued e.g. by "Amateur Wireless" or the "Radiowelt".

Tuning took place by moving the cat's tail, which moved  one coil of a variometer made from two loosely coupled basket coils, where one was fixed and the other could be swung. Another type used a tail-operated slide coil.

The whole Novelty was made from plywood. Several designes are known (UK, Germany/Austria)

To avoid scattering all over RMorg the different types are concentrated here under their common name FELIX, the cartoon character.
