• Mini FM and MP3 player portable radio with belt clip, operating from an removable BL-5C battery, charged from the DC 5V jack or from the USB port. It was sold with one 110/240VAC 50-60Hz 5V/1A USB adapter with cable.

  This is a very sensitive radio with good selectivity and excellent frequency stability for such a low cost radio, with good audio quality well above to what is expected for such a small diameter speaker, designed with just four IC's. The FM radio section  uses just one small RDA5807M IC that includes the FM tuner, PLL, IF, and MPX decoder. The audio power amplifier uses a SC8002B driving a small 5cm speaker with a huge 4cm magnetic motor able to handle up to 3W on 4ohm. The media player and radio control is managed by a JL (JieLi) AC1346H7T578-3 SoC media processor IC and a TC24C02 256-Byte EEPROM IC.

  Some production batches are firmware buggy, where every time it is powered on the unit will set the volume to the maximum position. Fortunately, the high power speaker seems to be able to handle this large power.
