Description |
UHF transmitting triode, mu 25, 20W plate dissipation. Thoriated tungsten filamentary cathode. Used as oscillator for frequencies up to 500MHz, also in ring oscillator circuits.
Two were used in the ASB-1 transmitter, 1941, giving 5 kW pulses at 515 MHz. Four used in the ASB-3 transmitter, 1942, generating 15 kW pulses. Six in the ASB-7 transmitter, 1943, giving 50 kW pulses.
15E was also considered one of the best noise source when operated as controlled temperature diode. MIT Radiation Lab Series, Microwave Receivers by S. N. Van Voorhis.
