The Type 1P1 tube, octal base, general US, current regulator, is not used in Murphy radios B229 or B383 as appears on the 1P1 page.

The British, possibly only Mazda, 1P1 is another name for DL96. This might be obvious, but searching for 1P1 on the Museum brings you to the current regulator page and linked to said receivers which is confusing.

Searching for DL96 brings you the correct 1P1 Mazda though but there we miss links to Murphy radios such as the B229 and B383, and possibly other sets, using the 1P1 tube.

 Best wishes, Stig Comstedt

Yes this was discussed last week (Feb 2012), there are a number of Ediswan/ Mazda tubes that have the same number as rarer ballast resistors and such like. Such as 1C1 = DK91

See my Introduction to B7G tubes (valves)

I beleive the Tube Admins have a plan to fix this. The Ediswan/Mazda tubes will get the "true number" and the more rare tubes things like "1C1_ballast"

Stig, Michael,

this mistake is due to different tubes with similar codes. Since two similar codes are not allowed, the Mazda tube was identified as 1P1_Mazda. When the radio models were first entered, someone used the wrong code. Now the discussion on the Forum could even lead to some ideas, but leave unchanged the mistakes found by Stig.

The proper and even simpler procedure to clear this confusion is the submission of a 'Data change' from the pages of the two Murphy radios, 'Uplpads and questions' menu. It is a matter of few minutes to copy the old tube list, paste it in the field of proposed list and edit the 1P1 to 1P1_Mazda. In the 'Reason' field, at the bottom, Stig could explain the reasons given in this thread. The change will be effective in a short while, as soon as administrators approve it.

Regards, Emilio
