The American company Sears Roebuck, with its head office in Chicago sold the standard range of American designed and made from 1925. A few small manufacturers made these tubes and they were branded "WLS" (Worlds Largest Store). The company allotted each tube a four digit type number. The company also sold regular branded tubes such as Radiotron, Cunningham, Solartron and Meteor. Page 552 of the Fall 1925 shows that the 2958 is the Cunningham C299. The tube is illustrated and shows it being tipless and having a brass base.
