Can a 2N2953 be replaced with a Russian GT402i, as a driver in an amplifier circuit?

A 2N2953 is a lighter duty transistor,  VCBO is only 24 volt where its 40 on the GT402i, also the VEBO is 500 ma on the 2N transistor and 150 ma on the GT...I would say not to use it as a replacement.
