Description

Remote-cutoff beam pentode, intended for operation as shunt voltage regulator up to 30KV. Small-shell duodecal base, 7 pin used. Made by GE and RCA.

The 5890 was used in RCA theater projection sets. It's a nice example of low production, "cobbled together" design, consisting of the electron gun and neck section of a 5TP4 projection CRT, firing into an anode lifted from the 2X2A/879 HV rectifier.
