This tube is one of a series of tubes made by the British Thomson Houston/Ediswan companies (after their merger in 1927) with the type number prefix 68----. Manufacturers literature indicates that the companies were licensed by the General Electric Company (USA) to use the name "Tungar" to identify the type of rectifier tubes These are. primarily battery or accumuator types.
