The 6P6 tube was a 10 watt transmitting tube designed by Amalgamated Wireless (Australiasia) Ltd and was electrically the same as a Type 42. The only difference was that the plate/anode was connected to the top cap. It was first announced in the "Radiotronics" publication of AWA in their Experimenters Bulletin no 8, dated 7th February 1936. The tube was unique to Australia and not made by any other company.
