Power pentode, for wideband video amplifiers.
The 8608 is a 8233 with the anode at the top, it is a power pentode initially used by Tektronix in their hybrid high performance oscilloscopes from the sixties, the 8233 parent is a commonly used driver and PA tube in radio equipment.
