Description

Micropup Construction. Capable of full ratings operation up to 100 MHz. Indirectly heated oxide-coated cathode for large emission. Platinum coated molybdenum grid to reduce secondary emission.

  • 15 kV peak anode voltage
  • 125 A cathode emission

Designed at GEC as E1496, it was introduced in 1944, likely as the largest micropup triode ever made. It had been designed to operate down to 1 m wavelenght (300 MHz) but tests at TRE were performed down to 50 cm (600 MHz).
