Pulse Modulator with Silica envelope. Va<55kV, Ik<50A peak. Pa<700W. Gm=38mA/V at Ia=30A and Va=10kV. Developed by Mullard against the VX313 specification, issued as the CV313 and later the commercial valve QYS50-P40
Around 1950 three CV313 tubes in parallel were used to generate 2 MW pulses to drive the magnetron transmitter in the Naval Type 992 radar. They operated untill they were replaced by a smaller hydrogen thyratron in the sixties.
