Descrizione |
Designed by EMI in 1941 to replace the early 10-cm reflex klystron family known as 'Sutton tube', the Admiralty NR89 and the Air Ministry 10E/501. The diameter of the interaction gap was made smaller and the flat reflector was mounted close to it.
Manufactured by EMI and likely by E.K. Cole. After initial assembly by the Radiophysics division of the Australian Council for Scientific Research, also made by Australian Standard Telephones Pty in New South Wales from 1942.
- Factory installed external cavity; 2970 to 3095MHz tuning.
- 100mW minimum output power.
The geometry of these early klystron made necessary the use of a quite high cavity voltage, 1 to 1.5kV, a severe limitation in airborne use.
