Gas filled spark gap. Tungsten tipped electrodes, ceramic sheat over the zone of discharge. 0.4 mm gap. The device was filled with argon and a small amount of mercury. 100 us recovery time. 650V max striking voltage. Several hundred hours useful life at 25KW.
