Tyne page 308ff brings the details of history. Here the main points only:
The first tubes RCA is marketing in 1920 are the detector tube UV200 with argon gas filling and the UV201 Amplifier. Manufacturer was General Electric (GE). Both tubes are operated with a filament current of 1 ampere and at 5 volts. Both have pear-shaped bulbs and are tipped. The base has a mantle of brass with a ceramic insert in thich the pins are imedded. Cunningham is naming his as C-300 and C-301. DeForest uses DV2 as name for the UV201. V stands for the UV-base.
In 1922 GE replaces the UV201 with the UV201A, having now a thorium filament.
In 1925 this tube comes with a new base and standardised construction (of 1923) for neutrodyne apparatus and is then called UX201A. Cunningham is naming the tube CX301A.
By having the tube with a shoulder type glass envelope (dome type) in 1932 the designation is changed to 01A. The 01A marks the end of this line of tubes.
Base first used on this tube was nickel plated. Changed to bakelite mid 1924 and in late in 1925 to "Isolantite" (a type of ceramic). Originally sold in a carton

Röhre DV2 (DV2 ) (De Forest) Merkwürdiges Testverhalten

Habe heute 2 Stück meiner DV2 Röhren auf Funke W19 geprüft. (Karte 607)
Röhre 1: Der Zeiger geht zunächst zügig auf Vollausschlag der 25 mA Skala und wandert dann zurück auf ca 10 mA wo er dann verharrt.
Röhre 2: Kein Vollausschlag sondern bis ca 10 mA und ebenso Rückgang, bei dieser R. bis ins ? - Feld.
Ein Ausschlag in Stellung 13 ist bei beiden Röhren nicht feststellbar.
Unter Berücksichtigung der großen Streung bei diesen alten Röhren und der Aussagekraft eines Funke W19 stellt sich die Frage, ob hier ein typisches Verhalten bekannter Fehler z.Bsp. schlechtes Vakuum o.Ä. vorliegen könnte. Auf welche Vorgänge ist wohl der vorherige Aussschlag und das Rückwandern der Anzeige zurückzuführen.

In "Barkhausen, H.: Elektronen-Röhren, Bd.1, 3.A., 1926, S.19" findet sich eine Fußnote betreffend dieses Verhaltens.
"Manche Röhren zeigen gewisse Unregelmäßigkeiten. Beim Einschalten der Anodenspannung steigt der Sättigungsstrom zunächst stark an und fällt dann langsam wieder ab, so daß man den Eindruck einer allmählichen Ermüdung hat."
Barkhausen stellt hier nur das Phänomen fest, gibt aber keine Erklärung dafür.
