See E1248. Microwave Diode switch.
Vacuum diode designed to be used as TR switch in coaxial lines. Cathode was supported by the rod from the top glass dome, while heater came out from the bottom. Anode was a copper block in the middle.
450V peak anode voltage, 30A peak current.
No known use; replaced by gas filled TR switches.
CV spec gives E1356 as prototype of CV8.
