High power UHF triode, designed by Bell at Hirst Research Centre of GEC. First introduced in November 1943. It originated two variants, the CW type CV257 and the CV1736, tested for pulse operation. Later it originated the ACT22 proposed as UHF TV transmitter.. The tube was a large disc seal triode, 5 - 10 kw at 3GHz
