This EL6E was made by attaching a P8A side-contact base to a EL12N to serve as replacement for the tube types
EL6, EL6/425
and 4699 as well.
The suffix "E" stands for "Ersatz" = replacement, which was normally used by German tube resellers to indicate makeshift replacement tubes with differing characteristics and lower performance.
In this case, the suffix "E" was not really necessary, since this EL6E performs very well as replacement for any types of the EL6 family, including the 4699.
