Description

Made by AWA Ltd.(Amalgamated Wireless Australasia Limited, 97 Clarence Street, Sydney), this soft tube had no contacting socket but wire leads. It used double filament. Production continued from 1920 to about the end of 1923. Early versions of the valve had ebonite caps 15 mm diameter. Later valves had bakelite caps with a diameter if 13 mm. It is not known when this change took place. Each valve had a serial number stamped on the anode and the highest serial number found so far is just over 10000. There is no information available to show exactly how many were made. Tube boxes located show that the tubes were packed in "raw" wool.
