| Description |
This seldom seen rectifier is unique in size, shape and electrical contact. Patent 1,706,135 filed Oct. 7, 1925, issued Mar 19, 1929 to Lewis S. Baker, assignor to Manhattan Electrical Suppy Co, New York. It has a hemispherical aluminum cathode and a carbon anode, with low pressure neon gas for ionization. Patent says hydrogen could also be used but is not as readily ionized, or high vacuum could be used at much higher voltage. No operating parameters are given.
