Beschreibung

In 1923, GE engineers began work on a tube similar to a UV201A but with a much higher amplification factor. The tube was designated PR1 and was used for experimental work at radio station WGY. te tube originally had a brass UV base but by August 1925 this base changed to the newly introduced UX base.. The tube was used in telephone repeaters and, condenser microphone ampifiers. Further development of the tube followed and it became the UX240, being first advertisd in QST magazine, April 1927. It is a High-mu tube.
