Beschreibung

The RA-1 is listed in the "German-Codex" wrongly as RA1. RA-1 was made by Arcturus for Sonora. Special indirectly heated tube from 1928 with one end of the 15 volt AC heater connected internally to the cathode. This voltage was chosen by the manufacturer to make use of the 15 volt AC transformers used in toy trains. The result was an AC tube with a standard 4 pin base which could be used to "electify" battery receivers. There were 7 tubes in the 15 volt series with numbers running from AC22 to AC48. Arcturus did not use the "AC" prefix on the tube numbers in their ads, but the earliest production tubes were so marked on their bases. See also Sonora RA-1 = AC48 or 48. As Plate voltage 67.5-135, neg. grid voltage 4.5.
