Description

Urdox-Widerstand mit zusätzlichem Heizwendel im Inneren des Widerstandskörpers unbekannten Typs. Der Sockel deutet jedoch auf militärische Verwendung hin (Wehrmacht).

Mit solchen Urdox-Reglern lassen sich durch eine von außen angelegte Spannung die Temperatur des Widerstandskörpers verändern und damit auch sein Widerstandswert. Die Funktionsweise ist also ähnlich wie bei einem Bolometer oder Themokreuz

Wenn der Urdox als Kathodenwiderstand einer HF-Eingangsröhre eingesetzt wird, kann man mit einer über eine Fernleitung zugeführten Spannung die Temperatur des Urdox und somit seinen Widerstandswert verändern und damit die Lautstärke regeln (Fernbedienung). So beschrieben in den Zeitschriften aus 1937.

An einem Exemplar dieses Typs wurden folgende Widerstandscharakteristik gemssen (Heizspannung Uh, Heizstrom Ih, Urdoxwiderstand Ru):

Uh: 0,0V, Ih: 0,000 mA --> Ru = 190 kOhm
Uh: 0,5V, Ih: 0,314 mA --> Ru = 101 kOhm
Uh: 1,0V, Ih: 0,519 mA --> Ru = 28 kOhm
Uh: 1,5V, Ih: 0,623 mA --> Ru = 9,0 kOhm
Uh: 2,0V, Ih: 0,723 mA --> Ru = 3,0 kOhm
Uh: 2,5V, Ih: 0,767 mA --> Ru = 1,3kOhm
Uh: 3,0V, Ih: 0,805 mA --> Ru = 0,63 kOhm
Uh: 3,5V, Ih: 0,828 mA --> Ru = 0,39 kOhm
Uh: 4,0V, Ih: 0,853 mA --> Ru = 0,26 kOhm
Uh: 4,5V, Ih: 0,877 mA --> Ru = 0,176 kOhm
Uh: 5,0V, Ih: 0,893 mA --> Ru = 0,122 kOhm

Die Einschwingzeit hängt sehr davon ab, wie groß die Heizspannungsänderung ist uns kann zwischen 5 Sek. (geringe Änderung) und 5 Min. (vollständige Abkühung von Uh = 5V) liegen.

Es gibt auch die Typen W1, W2, W3 und W4 mit jeweils etwas anderer Widerstandscharakteristik.

I have two of them, one marked "758" with pen on glass, second "926". They have about 350KΩ without heating and ca 60kΩ when 1V was applied to heater. But heater current is much higher - 0.5A at 1V

Hello Mr. Szczesniak,

these are interesting news. 

I have a question: Did they have markings on the top from the bulbs? The in rm.org shown example is marked with ink: 40Z.

Yes. This one with '758' marking has 'Hg', second is '7SH', but im not sure if I correctly recognized letters
