Description

Work started on development of this tube at the GE laboratories in the Spring of 1920 and the type number was assigned to it in November 1920. It was announced to the public in March 1921.

Output 50 Watts at 1000 V and 150 mA at the plate. Amplification constant = 15. Price $ 30.-;
A single tube can put 2.5 to 3 Amps in the amateurs aerial. RCA claimed high uniformity to permit parallel operation of several tubes to generate large antenna currents.

The tube could be operated on batteries but a/c-d/c was preferable. The companion rectifier is the UV217.

The type no UV203 was registered by RCA as a radio tsde mark with the US Government on 6th June 1922, being allocated no 155805.
