Description

Work started on development of this tube at the GE laboratories in November 1922 and the type number was assigned to it in July 1927. It was available in the summer of 1929. From base to end top, this tube measured just on five feet in height, making it one of the largest tubes made at the time. It was designed to be an oscillator, RF power amplifier and class B modulator. Depending on the application, the tube had an output of 30,000 to 100,000 watts.
