Information - Help
ID = 33359

Country:
United States of America (USA)
Brand: General Electric Co. (GE); Bridgeport CT, Syracuse NY
Tube type:  CW-magnetron
Identical to ZM-6238

Filament Vf 2.5 Volts / If 2 Ampere
Description Low-power voltage-tunable CW magnetron (VTM). 1000 to 2000MHz, 1W minimum out, 1.15MHz/V tuning sensitivity.
Magnetic and RFI shieldings included; integral isolator optional.
The VTM, Voltage Tuned Magnetron, covers a wide frequency range. Its operation is quite different from that of resonant cavity types, where bunching is easily accomplished due to the high Q of the cavities. To have electron bunching, the VTM must operate with an electron current lower than the space-charge limited one: this is accomplished using a cold cathode in addition to an injection system with a filamentary cathode. The operating principle is described in the application note given for the ZM-6222 type.

Theory of operation.
Weight 670 g / 23.63 oz
