Halco Radio Halco radios were manufactured and distributed in West Australia by Herbert E. Allen from 1935 till 1936 from his residence in the Perth suburb of Nedlands. He also offered a repair service until 1954 |

Allen’s first advertisements for Halco Radio appeared in March 1935 advertising models from 5 to 12 valves. [1] Advertising for Halco Radios ceased in April 1936. During the period 1936 to 1941 he only advertised occasionally, radios for sale of various models but did not mention a brand. By 1943 he advertised regularly offering an efficient 24-hour repair service to all makes.[2] In 1947 he advertised as H. E. Allan & Son from his Bruce Street address and in 1953 shifted to 47 Merriwa Street, Nedlands. [3] [4] In all adverts from 1943 on he included the statement “Manuf.
