Telemax-Southern Ltd. was formed in 1962 as a joint company between Telemechanics and Southern Instruments Ltd., to undertake the international marketing of a new wide-range frequency meter and synthesizer.

After Southern acquired all shares in 1964, the company was renamed J.A.C. Electronics Ltd.

This manufacturer was suggested by Pier Antonio Aluffi.
