Dear Members,

Great was my surprise when I  open a Telefunken EM80 new in box and to find the TFK logo in front face of the tube!!  .  Now I should see in close-up the TFK logo and in the background the signal intensity in the magical eye.

Someone knows if the Telefunken factory delivers guarantee by this tube still?

Kindly regards, Bruno.

Dear Bruno,

this is a very good Example to show, that the well known "Made in Germany" Quality is not always true.

As Telefunken is not on the Market any more, there will be no chance, to get this tube replace for free. But it is a very good Collectible, and i think, many tube Collectors would like to have such an item in their Collection.

It is like with stamps, the rare misprints are higher in value.

and it is propably the only one Tube, with green backlightet Telefunken Trademark.

Best Regards from Germany,

Henning

Well, I wouldn't really consider this a warranty request from Mr. Gandolfo-Canepa ;-)
But, if you really want to dissolve the print, just put the tube into a glass of water, add a tiny little bit of detergent (or keep the tube wet otherwise), wait for a minute or two and then simply wipe off the print.
However, I'd never do so ! This really would make a great addition to any tube collection.

Dear Henning and Burkhard,

I know that this EM80 is an EXTREMELY RARE tube.

Like in the history of the ugly duck, now he is recognized and it has a great value.

Thanks for the amiable commentaries.

Bruno.

My recommendations?

Use a NOS EM81 or Russian equivalent EM80, and save the precious stuff for the collectors!
