From guest Ed Robles, Ferreira do Zezere, Portugal I received the following repair message:
- It was playing for about 15 minutes, and than it stopped playing, after some hours the same happened.
- We found out that one of the 3 transistors AF117 caused this problem, we replaced the transistor by another of the same type (a used one). With this trasistor the radio kept playing a litle longer, but after about an hour it also stopt playing.
- This type of transistor has 4 connections, one off is connected with the metal cage of the transistor, and is meant to reduce interference.
- By disconnecting this 4th wire from the printed-circuit, the problem was solved, we also disconnected this wire of the other 2 AF117 transistors, just in case.
- For so far I don’t hear any difference of interference.
