Description from Wireless World & Radio Review Oct 21, 1922, Page 5.

The Burndept Tuner Mk. IV allows of optional single or double circuit working with switches to operate both Primary and Secondary condensers in series or parallel as required. It is in every sense a Laboratory instrument built on sound lines.

The Burndept HF 1 Receiver consists of a radio frequency amplifier and detector. Tuned reactance capacity coupling is used in accordance with Mr. Frank Phillips' specifications given in the Wireless World of 8th April 1922, but with the addition of a switch to cut out the H.F. Amplifier when not required, and a Burndept Stabilizer which prevents exceptionally sharp resonance on short waves.

The Note Magnifier Mk. IV is provided with a switch and is so arranged that it may be left connected to the Valve panel permanently, and the telephones permanently connected to the Note Magnifier output. In one position of the switch both Note Magnifier valves are " OFF," but the output of the valve panel is connected " THROUGH " to the telephone terminals of the Note Magnifier, in the other positions both Note Magnifier valves are " ON."

Not to be confused with the Tuner Mark V1.
