    Similar, earlier models with a larger upper escutcheon are LeVer Transistor 6Robin Transistor 6, and Royal Transistor 6.

    Note that the publication "Transistor Radios 1954 - 1968", page 89 shows the Commodore 8 Transistor with an identical case (except for 8 vs. 6) to the Robin TR-605 being manufactured by NEC.  Manufacturer in Japan most likely is NEC.
