Notes DeForest coils were manufactured by Coto-Coil (Providence, RI). Chief Engineer Gowen designed the Unit Receiver and the plug-in coils, but end of 1918 DeForest reclined that. In 1919 the business went down, and DeForest authorised Gowen to proceed with the developments. By order of DeForest Gowen contacted Thomas Giblin, President of Coto-Coil. Coto-Coil as well as Giblin both manufactured later coils under their own name. Giblin also built radios.

DeForest ließ übrigens die Spulen von Coto-Coil Co. (Providence, Rhode Island) herstellen. Chefingenieur Gowen hatte den Unit Receiver und die Steckspulen erdacht, und wollte Ende 1918 DeForest dafür begeistern, wurde aber zurückgewiesen. 1919 verschlechterte sich die Auftragslage. Nun durfte Gowen aktiv werden und war autorisiert von DeForest seine Entwicklungen durchzuziehen. Gowen nahm im Auftrag von DeForest Kontakt auf mit Coto-Coil und deren Vorstand Thomas Giblin. Sowohl Coto-Coil als auch Giblin stellten beide später unter eigenem Namen Spulen her. Giblin baute auch Radios.

Friendly Service from De Forest
 
During my Holiday in Ireland, I was successful and got a set of De Forest coils.
The Label on those coils is very useful.
There is a Diagram were you can easily read what will be the wave length in relation
to the related Capacity between 0 and 1000 pF.

Sorry, but I doubt deForest. such coils were made by Igranic.

The DeForest Honeycomb Coils with their typical pin/jack base are an invention made in 1919 by Robert F.Gowen, Chief Engineer at DeForest.

Während meines Aufenthaltes in Irland kam ich in den Besitz eines Satzes von De Forest
Spulen.
 
Es war schon ein freundlicher Service, dass die Kurve der zu empfangenden Wellen
Auf jeder Spule angebracht ist. Wenn man die Kapazität des Dehkondensator zwischen
0 und 1000 pF mit dem Schnittpunkt der Kurve abliest erhält man die Wellenlänge,
welche man empfängt.
 
Besonders nett ist auch der Hinweis:

Diese Spulen sind wohl eher von Igranic.

DeForest Spulen sehen anders aus. Die Erfindung der Steckspulen, der sogenannten Honeycomb-Coils (Honigwabenspule) mit dem Buchse/Stift-Sockel, erfolgte 1919 durch Robert F.Gowen, Chefingenieur bei DeForest.
